Quick answers
My spots disappeared
If you don't have cloud backup turned on, your spots live only on the device that created them. If you reinstalled the app, switched devices, or wiped your phone, that data is gone.
To prevent this in the future, subscribe to Shpots Plus and turn on cloud backup in Settings.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the iOS Settings app → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Shpots → Cancel Subscription. Or in the Shpots app: Settings → Manage Subscription.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep access until then.
How do I delete my account?
Open Shpots → Settings → Nuke Account. This permanently deletes your account, your cloud-backed spots, and all photos and videos you uploaded. The action cannot be undone.
How do I share a spot or collection?
Tap a spot to open it, then tap the share button in the header. You'll get a link you can send anywhere. Recipients can see the spot for one hour by default. For collections, the link can stay active until you revoke it.
How do I invite someone to a collaborative collection?
Cloud backup users can create collaborative collections from Collections → New → Collaborative. After creating, tap Members → Invite Link to share the join link. Up to 14 friends can join.
Cloud backup is using too much storage / I'm at the cap
Open Settings → Storage to see what's taking up space. Delete spots, photos, or videos you don't need. Cloud usage drops within a few seconds of deletion.
Why does the map ask for location?
Only when you tap "find me on the map" or save a spot at your current location. Background location is never used.
A spot has the wrong address or weather
Addresses come from OpenStreetMap; weather from MET Norway. If something looks wrong, you can tap and edit the address yourself. Weather refreshes when you open a spot.
